  Stopped at this grocery/auto store the other day for groceries and a few snacks and got scalped. The store is right on the Cabot Trail up on the hill in Cape North. Looks like a Big Red Barn. We've just called the place "the red barn" all the years we've been coming to the area for summer vacations. Convenient stop for snacks, fast foods, groceries, and yes, auto supplies. Never thought too much about their prices since the Canadian dollar and the American dollar have been pretty close to even par but this year the American dollar is worth about 30% more than the Canadian dollar The lady cashier still charged me even par for my groceries. Didn't notice it until after I left and thought the cashier had just made a mistake making change but we stopped in today for ice cream and more oat cakes and she still charged us even par. We asked what the exchange rate was and she said "We just do even exchange as that's easiest." Easy for them but her even par cost us about $10. Thanks a lot!!!!

  It's the only place in the area, so you can't be picky. There is a fair amount of stuff there and considering its isolation, the prices aren't terrible. The ice cream is really good and inexpensive!

  double check expiration dates before purchasing. bought a container of milk that was expired over a month. other than that, seemed okay.
